Last full week of Dive - All the happenings!!

Good morning all!

It is the final week of dive (with the exceptional of All Stars the 27th) and I wanted to check in as we have so much to make this last week fun for the team!

Practices

  • - A Meet divers are practicing this week, Monday to Thursday.
  • - All divers will come to our last Fun Dive which will be held on Wednesday this week! Fun Dive will be during the 8 am and 9 am practices and A meet divers will practice in the 7 am practice on Wednesday.
  • - There is an extra divisional practice on Wednesday afternoon at 1pm at Lee Graham for familiarization for all divisionals divers.
  • - Friday is Divisionals only practice - only divisionals qualified divers will practice on Friday.

A Meet tomorrow at Dunn Loring - All volunteer roles are filled and list of eligible divers remains as it was from last Thursday. Volunteers be on deck for 5:30 pm.

Timing 4:15-5:00 pm: Dunn Loring team warmup 5:00-5:45 pm: Dominion Hills team warmup 5:00-5:30 pm: Dive sheets due for check 5:45-5:55 pm: FG bounce 5:45-5:55 pm: Referee’s judges briefing (or earlier if all are present) 5:55 pm: Welcome & national anthem 6:00 pm: Start We plan to have a bounce before each event unless we decide to combine genders (for example, one bounce for all seniors).

Parking & Snack Shack There should be plenty of parking in our lot (8326 Cottage Street, Vienna, VA 22180). While they will close the main pool for the dive meet, they have a second pool that will be open should family members of divers want to swim. Their Snack Shack will stay open until 8:00 pm and will offer small pizzas, mac & cheese, cup o’noodles, candy, chips and drinks (for a real dinner, I suggest ordering to the pool). They will provide a large cooler of water at the table for volunteers and coaches to help themselves and they will have watermelon available for the divers.

A Meet LG @ DH Thursday the 17th - We will try for a 3rd time to have this meet at home on Thursday and I am trying to be positive that we will get through it this time. I need those with A meet divers for Thursday to please go in and sign up for volunteering for jobs. As of now I have the following positions open Announcer, 1 judge still needed, meet photographer, meet secretary (Cathy will not be available and I am the ref so I will need someone to take this role), and 2 table workers. Thank you to all those that have already signed up! I appreciate you!

Warm ups 4 pm as usual for home meets, with team pizza party at 5:00 pm while the other team warms up. We will have the Freshman girls bounce start at 5:45 pm. We are looking for a National Anthem performer for this home meet if anyone's child is interested.

Banquet Friday the 18th: We are looking forward to capping off the season with our awards banquet on Friday evening. I still need a volunteer to help take down table and chairs and clean up after the banquet. I can't wait to see everyone there this Friday and celebrate how far all these divers have come this summer! I am so proud of this team and how these kids have been developing.

Help us find Zach's T-shirt: Zach Ervin's t-shirt seems to have been misplaced in a brown paper bag that said Ervin on it. Can you please check and let us know if you have been accidentally given the wrong bag/t-shirt size. You can text or call me at 240-406-0673. We are hoping to locate this as we don't have any additional shirts of this size available to give to Zach.  Thank you!
