Volunteering and Meet Jobs
Good afternoon all!
I hope this email finds you well. I wanted to let you know we are now 1 week away from our first A meet, next Tuesday, July 17, 2025 at 6 pm at Home versus Hayfield Farms.
With the season kicking off, I wanted to give a few reminders and ask for a bit of help:
1. We can't make the season happen without parent volunteers to run the meets. To that end, I have opened up the sign up for jobs for all of the regular season meets. Job sign ups can be found here https://dhdive.swimtopia.com/swim_meets .There are different job requirements for the meets whose job sign ups have not yet been opened and I will send out emails on those a bit later in the season.
2. For home meets, warm ups start at 4 pm and then we have a team pizza party while we set up for the meet and the visiting team practices. We will need someone to coordinate both the team pizza party (pizza bought from Pizza Bolis) and the concessions pizza that we sell next to the Quack Shack.
3. For away meets practice starts later and different numbers of volunteers are needed, but the jobs necessary for each meet are listed in the job sign up for that meet.
4. This year I do not have a Banquet coordinator for the first time. I need one or two parents to step up to do the banquet coordination at the end of the season. I am hoping that I can get some time from the previous coordinator do give some handover to the parents that volunteer.
5. Friday morning breakfast and pancake day - I hope to do combined Friday morning breakfast with swim, in which case we will need less Friday morning helpers, but we will likely still need a few. Same for pancake day, we will need volunteers for helping the with the set up, mixing, cooking, and clean up for pancake day. More info on these two things once I have confirmation of coordination from the Swim Reps.
6. We have two B Meets this season and both are at home. These are fun meets where all divers that don't dive in A meets can get the experience of a dive meet without the pressure of competition. These meets are on Thursdays and will also need volunteers to help run them.
7. Spirit wear will be arriving soon as well as team t-shirts and so I would love if we can get a spirit wear coordinator to help get those items to the right families when they arrive.
I couldn't find a date for the kick off party due to access issues with the pool calendar, and we are now kicking off, so the coaches are thinking of pulling together another fun activity for the team and I am hoping we can host a small potluck/drinks social one evening. More to come on this when I can get access to the calendar.
If you have any questions about the season or volunteering, please feel free to reach out via email or text. My number is 240-406-0673.
Thank you in advance for your help in making this a super fun season for the team!
Kindest regards,
June
